To My Teachers - Thanks for opening a whole new world to a small town girl
In this section, I include the authors and written works that have had the greatest influence on my inner journey over the last seven years (2007-2014). I have only listed works that I have read at least twice, if not three or four times. Each time I return to them, they reveal more of the magical, mythical world to me.
I wanted to share these works because they have had a profound impact on me and have contributed greatly to my understanding of the world. I describe my personal connection to these works and list favorite sections as well as recounting a few personal stories. These works have become a part of me and reading them is likely to bring a greater understanding of the references and language I use in To Kill A Coyote. These works and their authors have been my teachers - especially over the last seven years. I would like to express my deep gratitude to these authors and their passion for life, myth, and meditation. I would be happy to discuss these works further - please send your comments, suggestions, and thoughts to [email protected]. |
" 'Suspended in the air' (the meaning of Meteora in Greek), these monasteries represent a unique artistic achievement and are one of the most powerful examples of the architectural transformation of a site into a place of retreat, meditation and prayer." (http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/455)

The power of books and the written word should not be underestimated.
